- Alleged Victim (AV) requires the the facility to manage his/her medications. On or about December 30, 2019, AV's physician filled a twenty eight day supply of AV's narcotic pain medication. AV's narcotic pain medication was prescribed with the order "take 1 tablet by mouth 2 times daily. Alleged Perpetrator 2 (AP2) documented the facility's receipt of 56 tabs of AV's narcotic pain medication. Between December 30, 2019 and January 24, 2020, AV did not receive his/her narcotic pain medication as prescribed on 9 occasions. These 9 occasions were comprised of 7 documented instances of over administration, and 2 instances of under administration, causing a new shortage of 7 tabs. AP2's misappropriation of AV's medication is considered financial abuse. The facility failed to provide a safe medication administration system which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
