Findings
Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility to administer his/her medication. From February 1, through February 23, 2021, AV did not receive the medication Donepezil. AV’s medication list was faxed to AV’s physician on February 8, 2021 and included Eliquis but did not include Donepezil. The physician returned the signed order to the facility on February 9, 2021 indicating the medication was not ordered and should not be continued. AV was administered Eliquis from February 7, through February 23, 2021. The facility failed to provide a safe medication administration system for AV, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
