Findings
Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility to administer his/her medication. AV was prescribed narcotics for pain. This medication was discontinued in October 2021, AV’s personal care physician (PCP) sent a fax to the facility and sent a copy of the paperwork with AV after an appointment. However, the facility had requested a refill on or about October 12, 2021, which they received on November 3, 2021, which the facility continued to administer. The Medication Administration Record (MAR) has all but two days in the month of November 2021 initialed indicating that the medication was given twice a day. The facility failed to provide a safe medication administration system, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
