Findings
Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility to administer his/her medications. AV has a doctor’s order to apply medication ointment three times a day. Medication Administration Record (MAR) shows the medication ointment to be applied as needed (PRN). MARS and other documentation do not indicate medication ointment was applied. AV suffered pain and unreasonable discomfort. The facility failed to administer medication and provide a safe medication administration system, which is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
