Findings
The Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility for his or her care. On or about February 14, 2023, AV was prescribed an antibiotic due to an infection. The pharmacy did not fill the antibiotic due to AV being allergic to the medication and notified the facility. The facility staff alerted the prescribing physician but did not follow-up after that and AV went approximately 10 days without taking the antibiotic. AV was sent to the hospital for the worsening infection and accompanying pain, where AV received additional interventions. The facility failed to provide a safe medication administration system and administer medication as ordered, which is a violation of resident rights is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
