- Findings
- The Alleged Victim (AV) relied on the facility for medication administration. AV requires observation of his/her skin due to complications related to blisters. AV was taking a steroid medication that was to be discontinued by the facility on or about June 8, 2023. AV's blood sugar had a very high spike, which was attributed to AV being on the steroid medication too long. AV had to remain on blood sugar medication due to being on the steroid for a longer term. As well, AV suffered blisters to his/her skin, and it went unchecked by staff from August 28, 2023, through September 20, 2023. Due to the facility not having a safe medication administration system, AV suffered unreasonable discomfort. The facility's failure to provide a safe medication administration system is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
