Findings
The Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility to manage his/her medications. According to an investigation, between approximately July 3, 2024, and July 26, 2024, Alleged Perpetrator 2 (AP2) signed out multiple doses of AV’s narcotic pain medication that AV did not request or receive, causing AV's medication to run out. AV's doctor would not refill the prescription and referred AV to pain management, causing AV emotional harm and repeated unreasonable discomfort. AP2 was responsible for financial exploitation by way of theft, which constitutes abuse. Prior to this incident, staff reported concerns with AP2’s medication administration and possible medication diversion to management. The facility failed to complete a thorough investigation regarding the allegations and did not keep AV free from financial exploitation, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care which constitutes abuse.
