Findings
Alleged Victim (AV) has a history of seizures and is prescribed medication for this disorder. Facility is responsible for ordering, storing and administering AV's medications. On or about August 7, 2024, AV was prescribed an increase to a current medication that is an anticonvulsant used to treat seizure disorders, but AV did not receive the increased dose until September 12, 2024. On or about September 14, 2024, AV had a seizure in the dining area falling out of h/h chair, hitting h/h head resulting in a severe head injury requiring hospital visit and staples. The facility failed to administer medication as ordered failed to provide a safe medication administration system, which is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
