Findings
The Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility for his/her care and to administer his/her medications. According to an investigation, on or about October 10, 2024, the facility was aware AV had not received ordered diuretic medication from September 30, 2024, through October 10, 2024. AV was experiencing shortness of breath and was sent to the hospital for treatment on October 13, 2024. Over a period of eleven days, AV did not receive diuretic medication ordered, resulting in AV experiencing shortness of breath requiring hospitalization. The facility failed to administer medication as ordered, which is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
