Findings: Alleged Victim (AV) had a known history of falls and was care planned for hip protectors. Prior to this incident interventions added after falls were interventions that were already in place. On or about August 2, 2019, AV fell in the bathroom breaking his/her hip which required surgical repair. AV was not wearing his/her hip protectors at the time of the incident due them being washed. The facility failed to follow the care plan and failed to implement new interventions to mitigate AV's risk of falls, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP20-00890 $2500.00 fine assessed
