Findings: Witness 1 (W1) was receiving one on one care due to agitation and a resident to resident incident that occurred earlier in the morning. Staff providing one on one care had to leave to go to a meeting. Alleged Victim (AV) approached W1 to intervene in a altercation W1 was having with another resident in which W1 slapped AV across the face and AV responded by slapping W1 across the face causing both residents unreasonable discomfort. The facility failed to provide a safe environment, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP20-00306 $338.00 fine assessed
