Findings: Because the facility closed prior to the completion of this investigation report, no Civil Penalty can be levied against this owner for this action. The facility failed to provide a safe medication administration system for Alleged Victim (AV) by not ensuring his/her blood pressure medication and acid reflux medication were onsite and administered as ordered. Facility documentation indicated that AV’s medication was not onsite and was not administered for multiple days. On or about October 6, 2019, a staff member noticed AV’s medications were missing and ordered them through a pharmacy. That staff member did not return to the facility resulting in AV not receiving his/her medication until October 19, 2019 when AV moved to a new facility. AV not receiving his/her blood pressure medication put AV at risk of harm. The facility's failures are a violation of resident rights, are considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
