Findings: On or about November 27, 2019, the Alleged Victim (AV) was discharged from the hospital with a prescription for antibiotics, which were delivered to the facility by AV's family member. The facility sent the information to the pharmacy to add the information to the MAR, however, it was not added to the MAR and the facility never followed up until December 2, 2019 when the facility Nurse caught the error on the MAR. AV received the first round of antibiotic 5 days later, placing AV at a risk for serious harm. The facility failed to provide a safe medication administration system, which is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: ALFCP20-00366 $375.00 fine assessed
