Findings: On or about January 6, 2020, Alleged Victim (AV) was admitted to the hospital for severe dehydration and it was discovered that AV had not eaten or had anything to drink in over a week. AV had a prior hospitalization on December 19, 2019 in which AV was discharged with specific oral care instructions due to AV having swelling of the jaw and infected teeth. The facility failed to properly plan care for AV's oral hygiene which resulted in AV experiencing pain and discomfort which lead to AV not eating or drinking. The facility's failure to plan care according to AV's oral care needs is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP20-00406 $1500.00 fine assessed
