Findings: On or about January 8, 2020, Alleged Perpetrator 2 (AP2) failed to lock and secure the medication room when he/she left the medication room to weigh a resident. While AP2 was attending to another resident, Alleged Victim (AV) accessed the unattended medication room and took medication belonging to another resident. As a result, AV became sluggish and his/her responsiveness declined for a twenty-four (24) hour time period. AP2's actions is considered neglect of care which constitutes abuse. The facility failed to provide a safe environment for AV which is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP20-00549 $188.00 fine assessed
