Findings: Alleged Victim (AV) is care planned for the facility to manage his/her medications. On or about January 21, 2020, AV was released from the hospital and told the facility he/she was in pain. AV had an order for Acetaminophen 325 mg tablets, PRN. Effective date 1/20/20, 2 tablets by mouth every 4 hours as needed for Temperature greater than 100F. If Temperature persists for 48 hours, notify PCP, FOR: Temperature Greater than 100F and for pain. AV was not administered his/her as needed pain medication on January 21st, 23rd, and 26th, was only given one dose on January 22nd and 24th, and two doses on January 25th, despite progress notes indicating AV was complaining of pain. The facility failed to administer AV's pain medication as ordered, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP20-00658 $500.00 fine assessed
