Findings: Alleged Victim (AV) had a known history of a high pain tolerance and declining necessary care. On or about February 27, 2020, AV fell when attempting to sit on his/her bed and declined medical treatment. On or about February 28, 2020, the facility nurse convinced AV to go to the emergency room. AV was admitted to the hospital for the night and discharged with pain medication. On or about March 1, 2020, AV was observed to be in extreme pain, vomiting and issues with incontinence. AV still declined medication treatment. The facility failed to address AV's high pain tolerance and AV's inability to make medical decisions with regards to seeking medical care, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
