Findings: According to documentation, the Alleged Perpetrator 2 failed to seek proper assessment or emergency services for the Alleged Victim (AV) following an injury fall. The facility failed to follow the AV's care plan to ensure s/he is wearing a call pendant to alert staff if needed. The failures resulted in AV experiencing an unwitnessed fall without the ability to alert staff, was found on the floor in his/her room, and waited approximately 3.5 hours before being transferred to the hospital where s/he was diagnosed with broken ribs and bruising; which is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP20-01284 $1500.00 fine assessed
