- Findings
- Alleged Victim (AV) arrived at the facility on or about June 5, 2020 without all of their medication. AV's initial doctors’ orders on June 4, 2020 had signatures for some but not all of AV's medications which caused a delay in administering them to AV. AV missed multiple doses of medications the first ten days after move in because they had not been filled in time. AV suffers from chronic pain and more recent pain from fracturing their ribs and jaw and asked for pain medication consistently. AV's Norco was discontinued on June 12, 2020 per doctor's order, then prescribed again on June 18, 2020 after a doctor’s appointment but not entered into the MAR until June 25, 2020 causing AV to go seven additional days without his/her prescribed pain medication and to continue to suffer withdrawal symptoms. AV's pharmacy takes longer than usual to deliver ordered medications but there is no documentation showing AP1's efforts to timely refill medications or contact the doctor’s office regarding the orders. Staff did not document medication administration per procedure causing multiple delays in pain medication administration and pain for AV. The facility failed to administer medications as ordered, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
