Findings: Alleged Victim (AV) has a diagnosis which impacts cognition and safety awareness. AV is known to wander and exit seek. On or about July 19, 2020, AV left the facility unassisted. AV was found and brought back to the facility. AV was found to have four syringes on his/her person, some were uncapped. Due to the likelihood that AV was pricked by one of the syringes, there was concerns for exposure. AV will need to have continued testing and post exposure prophylaxis therapy. The facility failed to provide a safe environment putting AV at risk for serious harm, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP20-01522 $500.00 fine assessed
