Findings: The facility failed to provide a safe medication administration system to ensure the Alleged Victim's (AV) narcotic pain medication was available to administer. He/she went without pain medication for approximately a week and when the medication was received, it was not applied properly and caused burning and redness to the AV. The AV suffered unnecessary pain and suffering. The facility's failure is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: ALFCP20-00819 $500.00 fine assessed
