Findings: Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility for his/her care. On or about August 10, 2020, AV and Witness 1 (W1) were sitting outside their shared bedroom on their wheelchairs. A staff member had just cleaned AV’s bed and locked their door. W1 assumed AV had locked the door and so kicked AV in their leg. The facility failed to provide a safe environment for AV resulting in AV sustaining a leg injury, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP21-02358 $250.00 fine assessed
