Findings: The facility failed to change/clean Alleged Victim's (AV) filters for his/her breathing machine when the facility was placed on COVID19 lockdown resulting in AV's spouse no longer being able to perform the task. An investigation determined that the facility was not keeping physical records of cleaning AV's breathing machine prior to September 2020. AV's breathing machine's filter was found to be brown and dirty. The facility's failure to provide a service for AV placed AV at risk for respiratory illness which is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: ALFCP21-01352 $250.00 fine assessed
