Findings: The Alleged Victim (AV) is care planned for a two-person assist with gait belt for all transfers. On or about December 13, 2020, Alleged Perpetrator 2 (AP2) transferred AV without a second person providing assistance. AV was described as crying uncontrollably, red faced and claimed that AP2 had hurt him/her. AP2 failed to follow the care plan which is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse. Through the investigative process it was determined that several staff had a different understanding the of assistance AV needed to safely transfer despite what was outlined in AV's care plan. The facility failed to ensure AV's care plan was followed, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP21-02402 $375.00 fine assessed
