Findings: Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility to administer his/her medications. On or about January 1, 2021, AV had a fall and was sent to the ER. While at the ER, AV was prescribed antibiotics due to an infection in the legs. AV returned to the facility on January 1, 2021, but was not administered the antibiotics until January 4, 2021. AV complained that his/her feet hurt and both feet appeared red and swollen by this time. The facility failed to administer AV’s order medication putting AV at risk for serious harm, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP21-02610 $1500.00 fine assessed
