Findings: On or about February 11, 2021, Alleged Perpetrator 2 (AP2) failed to ensure Alleged Victim (AV) received medication as prescribed. AP2 gave AV another person's eye drops which resulted in AV having blurred vision. AP2's actions is considered neglect of care which constitutes abuse. The facility failed to provide a safe medication administration system for AV. An investigation determined that the eye drops AV was given belonged to a resident who no longer lived at facility and the facility failed to remove the eye drops from the medication cart. The facility's failure is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: ALFCP21-01591 $188.00 fine assessed
