Findings: The facility failed to follow Alleged Victim's (AV) care plan for AV's known behaviors for refusal of care. An investigation determined that AV's care plan states when AV refuses care, staff is directed to reapproach AV several times and notify facility management if AV continues to refuse care. AV was observed to be in very wet briefs during several visits and documentation showed AV was not getting regular showers. The facility's staff failed to notify facility's management team when staff could not redirect AV when he/she refused care. The facility failure is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP21-03506 $563.00 fine assessed
