Findings: Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility to administer his/her medication. On or about June 4, 2021, during the day shift, the facility switched Narcotic log books and matched the pill count with each log entry. The June 4, 2021 reconciliation should have noted two (2) missing pills noted on the Medication Administration Record (MAR) (not on the Narc log) as administered on June 4th 12:20 am if it had actually been administered then, but did not. The morning of June 5th after Alleged Perpetrator 2 (AP2) left work, there were six (6) missing narcotics from AV’s bottle. AP2 and the facility failed to provide a safe medication administration system, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP21-03495 $500.00 fine assessed
