Findings: Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility to administer his/her medications. The facility had a Medication Administration Record (MAR) and Narcotics log to track medication administration. Alleged Perpetrator 2 (AP2) was the only staff to give AV narcotics since June 2021 and administered seven doses to AV. On or about June 5, 2021, after AP2 left work, there were three (3) missing narcotics from AV’s bottle. Between June 5th and 6th, 2021, AP2 created a new narcotics log sheet. There were four entries on it for AV’s pain medication administered by AP2, and nothing noted in progress notes, or the MAR about late entered administrations. AP2 failed to protect AV from financial exploitation, which is neglect of care and constitutes abuse. The facility failed to protect AV from financial exploitation, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
