Findings: Alleged Victim (AV) relies for his/her care. On or about July 10, 2021, AV fell, causing a wound to his/her knees. Three days after the fall, the facility sent a faxed to AV’ Personal Care Physician (PCP) and Hospice requesting conflicting instructions on knee wound care. On or about July 17, 2021, the prescribed antibiotic ointment for AV’s knee wounds was added to the Medication Administration Records (MAR) but care instructions for AV’s knee was not added until July 22, 2021. The facility failed to assure timely medical treatment, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: ALFCP22-00572 $500.00 fine assessed
