Findings: Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility for his/her care. On or about August 19, 2021, AV was standing at activity bench when Witness #1 (W1) walked up and started saying words, then hit AV with a shoe. AV grabbed W1 and they both started hitting each other. Staff then separated them. W1 was care planned for staff to have eyes on h/h to make sure s/he is not involved in incidents with others. AV reported h/h thumb was hurt, Paramedics called, and no injury found. The facility failed to follow the care plan, which is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP21-03229 $500.00 fine assessed
