Findings: Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility to administer his/her medication. On or about September 30, 2021. AV’s medications were changed to include both a PRN and a scheduled dose of opioid pain medications. AV’s pain medication was not changed on AV’s Medical Administration Record (MAR) to reflect being scheduled and both prescriptions remained PRN from October 1st through 3rd, 2021. AV did not receive any doses of pain medication from 6:43 am on October 2, 2021, until October 4, 2021, at 10:29 pm despite displaying visible signs of pain. The facility failed to provide a safe medication administration system, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
