Findings: On or around February 19, 2022, the Alleged Victim (AV) was found unattended in a supply closet near an opened bottle of body wash and a small cup that contained some of the body wash. Facility staff were unsure how long AV was in the closet or if AV had ingested the body wash, although AV did vomit later that evening, causing unreasonable discomfort. The facility failed to provide a safe environment and follow AVs care plan requiring frequent checks, which is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP22-01254 $500.00 fine assessed
