Findings: The facility failed to provide services, intervene, and timely seek medical treatment when Alleged Victim (AV) experienced multiple falls, and a significant change of condition. AV reportedly had multiple falls within a week that were not documented. On or about February 17, 2022, the AV experienced another fall where it was reported AV was not acting at his or her baseline; not walking, not eating, not wanting to take medications, had hand bruising, and complained of hip pain. AV was eventually transported to the hospital and was diagnosed with a fractured hip. The failure resulted in AV experiencing a delay in emergency care services, which left AV in pain and unreasonable discomfort, which is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP22-01269 $1500.00 fine assessed
