Findings: Starting approximately on December 23, 2021, the facility was supposed to provide wound care, when Home Health was not providing the care. There are multiple discrepancies within the documentation, regarding AV’s frequent refusals of the wound care and there are no notifications to AVs physician regarding any of the concerns or refusals. On or about March 5, 2022, AV was transferred to the hospital and admitted to ICU with CO2 narcosis, a UTI, an infection from the multiple leg wounds, cellulitis, and sepsis. The facility failed to provide services for AV and or implement interventions and appropriately care plan for AV’s known behaviors, which is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP23-00370 $300.00 fine assessed
