Findings: Alleged Victim (AV) is care planned to received assistance with medication, and staff were to administer all medications as scheduled. AV was out of his/her anti-depressant medication from August 10, 2022, through August 17, 2022. AV had experienced a loss prior to the medication not being available to him/her and so AV was not coping well. The facility was to reorder resident’s medication between 7-10 days before running out, however, there was no information provided showing the medication was order, or that anyone followed up on any order to make sure AV did not run out of their medications. The facility failed provide a safe medication administration system, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: ALFCP23-00421 $500.00 fine assessed
