Findings: The facility failed to provide a safe medication administration system to ensure the Alleged Victim’s (AV) medications were given per physician orders. AV was not given his/her blood pressure medication for approximately 2 weeks starting October 2, 2022, and then was also not given the medication multiple times over the next month. On or about November 5, 2022, AV went to the ER with chest wall pain and was noted to be hypertensive. The facility failed to provide a safe medication administration system placing AV at risk for serious harm, which is violation of resident’s rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: ALFCP23-00131 $1500.00 fine assessed
