Findings: The Alleged Victim (AV) is prescribed to receive inhaler medication two times per day. AV did not receive this medication for approximately three weeks, due to a pharmacy change, however AV's adult child was able to obtain the medication the same day that it was noticed AV was not getting the medication. AV suffered severe coughing due to the missed medication, causing unreasonable discomfort. The facility's failure to ensure AV received his/her prescribed medication is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: ALFCP23-00486 $250.00 fine assessed
