Findings: According to the documentation, the facility failed to assure timely medical treatment for the Alleged Victim’s (AV) pressure sore which developed on or about April 9, 2023. The failure resulted in the pressure wound to worsen causing the AV extreme pain and was transported to the ER on or about May 16, 2023, where s/he was diagnosed with a pressure injury of deep tissue to sacral region and received orders for home health wound care. There was no documented evidence the facility followed the orders for the AV to receive wound care from a home health agency. On or about 5/30/2023, the AV’s pressure wound split open, and the facility transported them to the ER. At the ER, the AV’s wound and bone were diagnosed as infected, which is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
