Findings: The facility failed to provide adequate care for Alleged Victim (AV), resulting in AV experiencing unreasonable discomfort. Based on facility documentation and interviews, on July 27, 2023, AV was found in bed covered with ants. AV's July 27, 2023, progress note indicates ants had also been found in AV's room prior to incident. The facility did not eradicate the ants in a timely manner. As a result of the ant infestation, AV was found covered in ants causing AV to experience unreasonable discomfort due to red, irritated skin, which is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP24-00001 $1500.00 fine assessed
