Findings: According to the documentation, the facility failed to provide a safe medication administration system for the Alleged Victim (AV). On or about September 21, 2023, the AV experienced a change of condition which required hospitalization. Upon return to the facility, the AV’s pain increased, causing the AV to request the PRN narcotic more often than normal. On or about September 24, 2023, the AV ran out of PRN narcotic pain medication and the facility failed to re-order it timely and prescription had expired. The AV was unable to request PRN narcotic medication due to needing a new prescription and order filled which did not happen until approximately September 27, 2023, causing the AV to experience pain and unreasonable discomfort for over approximately two days, which is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
