Findings: Alleged Victim (AV) is care planned to self-administer his/her insulin; however, staff must prepare insulin and watch administration. On or about June 15, 2024, a medication audit at the facility discovered AV’s medication to be expired. As a result, AV went through the weekend without his/her medication. Per AV’s PCP, AV not receiving the prescribed medication posed a serious risk of ham. The facility failed to provide a safe medication administration system, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: ALFCP25-00030 $250.00 fine assessed
