- Findings
- According to the documentation, the Alleged Perpetrator 2 (AP2) verbally abused the Alleged Victim (AV) by screaming and insulting at them causing emotional distress. On or about August 03, 2024, AP2 and AV were involved in a verbal altercation resulting in the AP2 to scream and insult the AV. The AV was agitated after the incident and talked about it to the staff and other residents. Witnesses to the event said the AV was agitated after the incident. There is documented evidence of the AP2 receiving training on abuse and resident rights. The AP2 screaming and insulting the AV is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse. On or about August 02, 2024, the AP2 was involved in another verbal altercation where they verbally abused and threatened acts of violence against another AV. The facility failed to protect the residents from verbal/emotional abuse by removing the AP2 from work duties. The failure to take action to prevent further emotional and verbal abuse is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
