Findings: Alleged Victim (AV) is care planned for the facility to complete AV’s nail care. On or about September 11, 2024, AV was observed scratching his/her own right hand while getting changed. During this event AV’s fingernails were noticed to be long and untrimmed. The facility was unable to provide evidence as to when the last time AV was provided nail care as stated in the care plan. As a result of the long nails, AV sustained a skin tear to his/her right hand. The facility failed to follow the care plan, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP25-00281 $500.00 fine assessed
