Findings: The Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility for his/her care. AV is care planned for total assistance for toileting and staff to check on AV multiple times per shift to ensure AV is dry. AV is known to be resistant to being changed or showered and is care planned for staff to document, perform weekly skin checks and report any changes in skin condition to RN and Physician. According to an investigation, AV was sitting in soiled briefs and clothing daily, resulting in redness, skin injury and toilet paper residue on AV’s skin. The facility failed to follow the care plan, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care which constitutes abuse.
Sanction: ALFCP25-00076 $1500.00 fine assessed
