Findings: The Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility to manage his/her medications. According to an investigation, AV did not receive three doses of their narcotic pain medication. AV experienced withdrawal symptoms and two falls, resulting in unreasonable discomfort and bruises. The facility failed to provide a safe medication administration to ensure AV’s medication was available to be administered as ordered, which is a violation of resident’s rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP25-01412 $188.00 fine assessed
