Findings: The Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility for care and services. According to an investigation, the facility conducted a fire drill, and a caregiver assisted AV down the stairs during this drill. AV's care plan states that AV uses a wheelchair for ambulation. The facility does have 3 evacuation chairs, but the staff did not know how to operate the chairs. As a result of AV ambulating down the stairs, AV suffered pain and had to go to the hospital. The facility failed to follow the care plan for AV, which is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect which constitutes abuse.
