Findings: The facility failed to provide a medication system that prevents theft of misuse of medications and failed to follow their own policy regarding theft. On or about March 21, 2020, the Alleged Perpetrator #2 (AP2) admitted to taking medications belonging to the Alleged Victim (AV) for his/her own personal use for his/her family member, Alleged Perpetrator #3 (AP3), and stated that he/she would do it again if necessary. AP3 was not aware of the theft of medication, therefore was found not substantiated in this case. AP2's actions are considered financial abuse and neglect, which is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse. The facility's failures are a violation of residents rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
