Findings: On or about July 5, 2020, Alleged Victim (AV) developed an open sore of his/her coccyx that had resolved by July 8, 2020. AV developed a sore on his/her coccyx that was noted to be open on August 6, 2020, was unstageable on August 10, 2020 upon admission to the hospital, was debrided on August 27, 2020 and found to be stage 4. Staff were instructed to turn AV every two hours to prevent the sore from worsening. Due to lack of adequate staffing staff were unable to turn AV every two hours and only did so on an average of twice every 8 hours. The facility failed to care plan to prevent AV from getting sores and failed to follow the care plan after sores developed, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP21-01812 $1125.00 fine assessed
