The money was taken by an unknown individual and this person is responsible for theft of property, which is considered financial exploitation and constitutes abuse. The facility failed to protect the resident’s property from theft, as the facility failed to give the AV a key to his/her lock box. The Facility's failure is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
